Monochrome Monday - Eye on Malaysia & Bright Moon

Year-end school holiday has started. We brought our nieces and nephews for a treat ~ a ride on the Eye on Malaysia. Coincidentally, we had a bright moon on Friday evening when this photo was taken.

Isn't it beautiful to have the Eye on Malaysia together with the moon in one frame?

Morning Om at the Park

A beautiful surrounding combined with a surreal chant of Om by the meditators across the pond is truly a calming sight on a Sunday morning. This is a scene that I captured at Melaka's Tun Fatimah Stadium last Sunday.

Wishing all of you a calm and restful Sunday.

Christmas decorations are already up in Mahkota Parade mall in Melaka. It's nice to see each mall offers different kind of creativity when festive season arrives. I am looking forward to KL's MidValley Megamall as every year it delivers awesome surprises to shoppers, in terms of its mall decoration. I wonder what is the theme for its Christmas decor this time around!

Skywatch Friday - Raining Season

Almost everyday we have gloomy sky and rainy afternoon. This photo was taken less than half an hour ago at Kesas Highway, before the ramp heading to UEP Subang Jaya. See those dark, stormy clouds hovering over the cranes.

I hope the rain will stop soon. We will be driving back to Melaka this evening. My friends are going for our cell group meeting. Safe driving everyone and go slow, yah! Safety is more important than speed!

Happy weekend everyone. This is the first time I am leaving my house empty for the weekend after it was broken in by robbers in early Nov. I pray hard that my house would be safe when I am away. Security has become worst in the Subang township. Crimes such as break-ins and snatch bags take place almost every other day. Sigh!!! I hope the police forces can buck up and do a better job at improving the security of our township!

For more Sky Watch Friday photos, please go over to its portal.

ABC Wednesday - 'Q' is for Quietude

This week's ABC Wednesday theme is 'Q' and I find it rather difficult. The last posting that I did for 'Q' was Queen of My Heart ~ My Mom. This time around I had to search through my Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary to find what can I post for this letter. I ended up with the word quietude. Frankly, I didn't know what it means.

The Oxford dictionary defined it as a noun that carries the meaning of stillness or calm. The
online thesaurus associates this word with serenity, silence and tranquility.

I found a photo taken during my backpacking trip to the Silk Road 2 years ago that shows a very tranquil scene of a yurt with a lady doing her washing in front of it. In the background was the Karakule Lake of Xinjiang, China. I find calmness and peace in this scene. How about you?

ABC Wednesday returns today with the theme 'Q'. Visit it to find out what is posted for this theme!

What are the ingredients that stores in your city usually stock up in preparation for festive holiday?

Global Diabetes Walk

What a great way to spend a Sunday morning by waking up as early as 6am to get ready for a healthy walk at the Subang Jaya Council (MPSJ) Stadium. My friends and I have signed up for the Global Diabetes Walk organized by Sime Darby Health Centre, formerly known as Subang Jaya Medical Centre.

It is a walk to promote awareness of healthy living through exercise in order to prevent diabetes. We were all encouraged to do at least 30 minutes of exercise daily. In one of the speeches by the organizers, it is said that Asia is contributing 50% to the number of global diabetic patients. That is a really high figure!!

My late paternal grandmother was a diabetic patient and I know how it felt to take insulin jab daily and having one's leg being amputated. It's better to take preventive measure as early as possible!

Sky Watch Fri - Grey Sky Over Twin Towers

Sky Watch Friday is back!! For today's posting, here's the Petronas Twin Towers, a popular landmark in Kuala Lumpur with the grey sky looming over it. It started to drizzle not long after this shot was taken.

It is raining season here in Klang Valley. We have grey, sad sky everyday. But don't let the sky dampen your spirit! The rain that comes with this gloomy sky makes the plants in my garden lush and green! That's good news to me!!! So I hope you will have a good weekend too
!!

My house was broken in by robbers this afternoon. We were back in Melaka when it happened. Got a real shock that this happened to us! The house is a mess as the robbers ransack all the rooms. But I insist on posting for today's theme day before I go on to clear the mess. Happy Theme Day all. Hope you have a better day than me!
"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
