Theme Day - Sept 2010 - Ramadhan Bazaar

Ramadhan Bazaar has returned. This is the month of Ramadhan where Muslims around the world will fast from dawn till sunset. During this month, there will be many Ramadhan Bazaar selling delicious local delicacies set up in different parts of Klang Valley. The Ramadhan Bazaar featured here is from SS18 Subang Jaya. Usually business begins as early at 3pm. People will start to arrive early in order to avoid the after office traffic jam and parking inconvenience. At the Ramadhan Bazaar, all races will turn up to enjoy the food sold. I am one of those who don't fast yet I love visiting Ramadhan Bazaar to get my supply of a Kelantanese cake called 'Akok'.

Supper by the Street

This may look like a scene from a movie set in the 60s but...this is what you will see outside my mom's place in Melaka on a weekend. It's fun to have a hot, steamy bowl of noodle as you watch people passing by. This is Jonker Walk, the weekend pedestrian mall in my hometown.

Today Malaysians will be celebrating our country's 53rd Independence Day! I wish everyone a Happy Merdeka!! May our country continue to be blessed with abundance ~ harmony, wealth and peace! Let's do it together, my fellow Malaysians!

Have You Seen Him?

We were seated in our school van when my eldest sister asked me if I had seen this guy smiling at her? The guy was seated in front of an antique shop at Jonker Street. After seeing the guy several times, then only did we realized that the guy was actually a statue!! This guy has been seated here for over 20 years. It looks like a real person. According to the antique shop staff, this statue was acquired from Sime Darby's estate. There were 3 statues and each of them held a flag, i.e. Malaysia, Melaka & Sime Darby. Have you seen him before?

Paka Beach Again

Life in the city is always hectic. One rushes from one place to another ~ drive fast, walk fast, talk fast, eat fast! It would be nice if one can take a break from city life and go to a beach like Paka and just slow down and enjoy scenic view around us.

Another beautiful scene that greeted me in the morning at Paka Beach, Trengganu.

Straits of Melaka

A view of Straits of Melaka and the Holiday Inn swimming pool from the hotel room.

I don't mind having such view from my window everyday! It is so soothing looking at them! How about you?

"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
