Red Hibiscus - National Flower

Proud to present to all of you Malaysia's national flower, the vibrant red Hibiscus (Bunga Raya, in Malay). The bloom is so beautiful. Taken on last Saturday morning.

Now I am taking more notice of my natural surroundings for subjects to capture with my camera. I realized from the many photos I saw on DPBs, there are many simple objects around us that we can capture with our camera and turn them into a piece of art. The matter is from which angle and perspective we capture them!

Lovely photo. It's such a striking red. And now I can act like I've known that the Hibiscus is Malaysia's national flower all along!

Well, that's a lovely capture you have there. Very nice. I love the vivid red of the flower. You make me now wonder what our national flower is, if we have one. I shall have to google that. :)

Beautiful flower. Love the bright colour and the close up shot of the flower.

"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
