Simple Comfort in the Wood

These are the chalets at Perah Camp where we stayed overnight when we celebrated Wesak at the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM). Amazingly that such simple structure was comfortable to sleep in. We brought our sleeping bags. Each chalet unit came with fan and light. The only setback is there is no attached bathroom. We had a restful sleep that nite. The surrounding wood provide us with cool air and it got rather cold at night. And surprisingly too, there was not a single mosquito attack inside our chalet!

Have you stayed in the wood before? What kind of structure that you stayed in?

To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter; to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life. ~John Burroughs

It looked like a very nice place to rough it out. But prefer to have an attached toilet. :) When I was young I had camped by the beach it was so much fun, we did not sleep but chatted and enjoyed the skylight. Those were the days. :)

"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
