SJ Merdeka Fun Walk

We were awake as early as 6.30am this morning to participate in the Subang Jaya Merdeka Fun Walk. Merdeka means National Day and yup, we are going to celebrate Malaysia's National Day on 31 August. This health-promoting event was organized by our Residents Association. Over 1,000 people turned up at Subang Ria Lake to join the walk that was about 3km.

This photo was taken during the brief warm-up session. The lady in cap and orange top is our elected state assembly person.
I wish there would be more residents who were aware of this event and join it as it was a good opportunity for SJ-rians from all walks of life to interact with one another in an active and sporty manner!

Anyway it's the Olympic Games season now!!! And tonite fellow Malaysians will be cheering away for our badminton player, Lee Chong Wei, who will play against China's Ling Dan in the Final Badminton Men Single to fight for the Gold medal.

"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
