ABC Wednesday - 'T' is for Theatre Play

It was a great pleasure to spend an evening at a theatre play. The play we recently went to is called Bottom Top. It was held at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Art Centre (KLPAC). Our very talented Datuk Faridah Merican played the role of a mother and Mark Beau de Silva (who also wrote the play) played the role of her son. The play was directed by Joe Hasham, another well-known figure of our local theatre.

Interestingly, the two characters in the play openly discuss the subject of homosexuality and sprinkle it with some humour to bring to light many enlightening issues that dwell on our gay community in Klang Valley. And amazingly, the mother in the play was so accepting towards her son being a gay, and even try to help him get a partner!!! It would be a bliss to all gays if their mothers or better still, the community, is able to accept their sexual preference! What would you say to that?

Happy ABC Wednesday. Thanks to the ABC Wednesday's team. Check out what the other team members have posted for today's theme: 'T' at the ABC Wednesday's portal.

Good to see this issue addressed, and I prefer to use the word "orientation" rather than "preference" as I believe their is a fair body of scientific evidence that being gay is genetic and not preferential. Thanks for showing this and for your comments as well.

"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
