My World Tues - Fashion Statement

I met these young girls while shopping at Berjaya Times Square in KL. Their fashion sense fascinated me as it is very much influenced by Japanese anime or manga characters dressing, called Cosplay. Check out their hair colour, eye make-up and nail polish.

In the shop next door, there were some Cosplay elaborate costumes and accessories on display. I understand that these clothes are very expensive. It takes a lot of creativity to dress in a full set of costume tastefully. I admire the focus and intensity of interest among these youngsters to dress in Cosplay costumes in public!

Do you have youngsters Cosplay dressing in your city?

Lovely photos. They really know how to dress up but if I am to dress like them...hehehe I would be send to the mental institution. Recently at a mall, I saw a girl who dress very kinky with a big flower on her head but on closer look she is about 50+...lol...OMG...she must have share clothes with her daughter.

Hi Alice, maybe if I were young I would dare to dress like this. But it has never been my style either.

But at my current age if I were to dress like these 3 young girls, I would certainly draw lotsa attention ~ hee...hee...probably like the lady with big flower whom you met! LOL!!

those are complicated outfits! Are they based on the clothes of cartoon characters? I don't know what Cosplay is.

Hi Saretta,

You are right. The dressing is based on characters in cartoon, anime or manga. For instance, if you are familiar with Sailor Moon, a female cartoon character, the fans would dress like the character.

i used to be a lolita and a cosplayer before. im deeply in love with the lolita fashion actually. i need an hour just to do my make up before going out. but now after wearing tudung, it is a bit hard to dress up like them. as i will draw a lots of attention which somehow makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. huhu.

Hi Niesacomel,

You are right, the shop is i-socks.

I love watching people dressed in cosplay costume. What a waste that you no longer do so. But if you change your mind, pls let me know when you are in your cosplay attires. It'd be fun to have you pose before my camera. *~*
