Drivers with Cellphones Kill

Many times we have been told not to drive and use our mobile at the same time. Yet, many of us still do not abide by this! In Malaysia, we now have a law to enforce this. Any driver caught using a mobile phone without a ear piece or sms-ing will be smacked with a summon by traffic police.

I was struck by the danger of driving while using mobile when I watched the movie 7 Pounds acted by Will Smith yesterday. In that movie, Will Smith was driving and checking his sms. It was a milli-seconds kind of distraction. Yet, his action caused the death of 7 persons, including his beloved wife! That accident changed his life and ......... you must watch this movie. I will not be a spoiler. This is a very moving drama. A must-watch. My 2 dear friends was with me at this movie and we had a good time discussing it after that.

Do you ever drive and use a mobile at the same time?

J.C.,

I never switch on my mobile phone except when I expect a very very important call. I've the tendency of not liking mobile phone.

Those people who talk while drive really drive me crazy. For once they cannot decide to stay on the same lane, swirl here and there, yet they don't have time or extra hand to hit the signal light. No wonder accidents happen!

I think they kill more than drunk drivers and guns combined.

"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
