Jesus Monument at Citraland, Manado

This is a Jesus Monument that one can see at Manado's Citraland. It is the 2nd tallest in the world after Christ The Redeemer monument in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

Wow this is so beautiful and I think it is a very difficult job to build the monument up there.

Wow, that is huge! Must be seen from kilometers around. I like that the artist chose the resurrected Jesus rather than the crucified Christ.

There's a mistake in the information you provided. The statue is taller than Rio's. Both are 30m high, but after the height of the pedestal is added, the overall height of this statue is 50m, while Rio's is only 30 smth. Also, the largest Christ statue is in Bolivia, with the state alone reaches 40m. The Christ statue in a Vietnamese town reaches 32m in height, which makes it the tallest Christ statue in Asia.

Thanks for the info provided, kyh!

"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
