God of Prosperity - Chinese New Year Series (2)

Usually God of Prosperity would make appearances during Chinese New Year. But yesterday, we had an early sighting of the God of Prosperity (Cai Shen Ye) at a coffee shop! This is considered a very good omen! Thus we all believe that next year, the Year of the Rat, would be a good one for all of us!

We all get a "hong bao" (red packet) each from him with words of wisdom in it. Usually during Chinese New Year, the hong bao would contain money. According to the
Chinese belief, the God of Prosperity would bring success and prosperity. Thus, during Chinese New Year, Chinese would pray and usher God of Prosperity to their household.

Have you seen a God of Prosperity before and receive a hong bao from him?

"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
