Paka Beach

Paka in Trengganu state is popular as this is where Petronas (our national oil & gas company) has its refineries. The refineries have helped in building the economy in this coastal village. Recently I had the opportunity to visit Paka for work purpose.

This is a photo that I took about 8am in the morning on the beach of Paka. The beach has an ethereal feel to it, with the mist still lingering at the mountain range across from where this photo was taken. It was a public holiday in celebration of Sultan Trengganu's Birthday and still early in the morning. There was hardly anyone on the beach. It was a chilling morning as it rained throughout the night. This combination of scene and temperature gave me a very calming feeling. As such I didn't feel lousy that I have to work on that day although it is a public holiday in the state of Trengganu! Hope to return to Paka again!

I have not been to Terengganu before ;-( But I was told before that the beaches there are beautiful. Paka beach is new to me. So I have to remember this one when I have a chance to go there ;-D

This is such a serene and lovely view! I love the mist too. Too bad it was too cold to go swimming.

And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
