In the Mood of National Day

Malaysia celebrated its 53rd National Day on 31st August. On 16 Sept, we will be celebrating Malaysia Day. This is the day in 1963 when Malaysia was formed with the union of Sabah and Sarawak with Malaya to form a new federation.

Therefore, Malaysian flags have been flown around the country from the month of August and September. The government is encouraging fellow Malaysians to be patriotic and fly our country's flags. In fact the Subang Jaya Council is also organizing a contest to encourage more householders to fly Malaysia flags at their houses. Response has been lukewarm and now the contest has been extended till end of September.

Do you fly your country's flag during its National Day celebration? Do you think flying the flag is an expression of your patriotism towards your country?

Malaysian flags were flew at my nieces school in Melaka during the recent National Day celebration.

I think that flying the flag of your county is great. The photo of all those flags flying is a good one.

An Arkies Musings

"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
