Christmas Cheers in KLCC

Seen here is the Christmas decorations in Suria KLCC mall.  The rush of Christmas shopping can be felt in malls in town. We experience problem in getting a parking slot and the crowd in the mall.  However, all the stress of shopping seems to dissipate, replaced by a feeling of warmth and joy upon seeing  the Christmas decors and listening to the Christmas carols played by the mall. I just love Christmas!

By the way, I have seen the The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and it's mind-blowing!  Stunning scenery. Happy singing dwarves. Beautiful story.  Lotsa actions. Creative creatures! I love the acting of Gollum too!  And the Hobbit, Bilboa Baggins ~ great acting!  I can't wait for the 2nd film, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which is due next Dec and the third film, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, due in July 2014.

Catch the movie at your cinema! Don't miss it!

Drivers with Cellphones Kill

Many times we have been told not to drive and use our mobile at the same time. Yet, many of us still do not abide by this! In Malaysia, we now have a law to enforce this. Any driver caught using a mobile phone without a ear piece or sms-ing will be smacked with a summon by traffic police.

I was struck by the danger of driving while using mobile when I watched the movie 7 Pounds acted by Will Smith yesterday. In that movie, Will Smith was driving and checking his sms. It was a milli-seconds kind of distraction. Yet, his action caused the death of 7 persons, including his beloved wife! That accident changed his life and ......... you must watch this movie. I will not be a spoiler. This is a very moving drama. A must-watch. My 2 dear friends was with me at this movie and we had a good time discussing it after that.

Do you ever drive and use a mobile at the same time?

An Afternoon at the Movie

Kungfu Panda was shown at the local cinema recently. We brought our nieces and nephews on a movie outing. It is also a memorable trip as this was my youngest niece first visit to a cinema. We were worried that she would get scared or restless after the light in the cinema was dimmed. However, she put our concerns to rest as she enjoyed the kungfu and the funny panda in the movie!

Film with a Huge Heart

(Commentary is posted on 19 April, 2008. My apology as my internet connection went down after I posted the photo).

Finally The Kite Runner movie has reached our shore!! I have read the book and also rave reviews on many blogs about the movie. After a long wait, it is now shown on cinemas in Malaysia. My only concern now is would our Censorship Board do a drastic chop, chop, chop on the movie. I have better wait for comments from others who have seen the movie at our local cinema before I catch it. Otherwise, I gotta continue my wait for the DVD to be on sale. (Sigh!! More waiting to do, then!)
"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
