Family Outing

A family enjoying the Chinese Opera performance during the 9th Emperor Festival at Sungei Way Temple.

--------------------------------

I just realized that yesterday marked the 5th Anniversary of Subang Jaya Daily Photo.  This blog was started on 6 Nov 2007.  Wow, I have come a long way with this blog.  It's been a bad habit of mine to start a project and to abandon it mid-way.  Sigh!!! Call it lack of commitment, lack of determination, impatient or ....I don't know.  But I am glad that I stayed on with this blog. 5 years is a long milestone for me.  Hope to see  I continue to keep this blog on-going as long as possible!!  Thanks for the kind support of those who visit often and left comments for me.  A heartfelt thanks to all of you.

Little Cheau Le

We were back to our hometown in Melaka last weekend.  This little 2-month old baby was a delightful companion over the weekend.  She is the new arrival to our family, our darling niece, Cheau Le.

Shy Boy

After our Pink Charity Run, we head over to Pandamaran for breakfast.  We discovered there was a wet market nearby and decided to do some marketing.  I met this shy boy perching on the back of a lorry waiting for his mom to finish her marketing. I love those big expressive eyes of his.  He was so shy and reluctant to look into my lens. It took some persuasion before he stop hiding behind the wooden bars.

Wishing for the rain

I am certainly wishing for the rain to come. The weather has been hot, hazy, stuffy, suffocating, humid......oh....killing!!!  I find it so hard to be outdoor in this kind of weather.  I wish the day when I saw this little boy walking in the rain with his huge Union Jack umbrella will take place again soon.

My Little Niece - Cheau Le

My little niece was delivered on last Thursday evening, 23 August.  The doctor expected her to arrive on 28 August. So she surprised us with her early arrival. We were back in our hometown to welcome her arrival.  Here's our Little Cheau Le's tiny feet.

Hari Raya Joy

Met this family at the USJ8 Police Station's Hari Raya Open House. The whole family is dressed in red theme colored clothes. They are festive looking and the kids are really enjoying the Hari Raya celebration. It was a good time for the public to mingle and get to know better the police officers that serve our USJ township. Hope there will be more such opportunities in the future.

Hari Raya Feast

Our neighbourhood mosque organized a Hari Raya Feast for all of us and nearby residents who frequented the mosque. We were fortunate enough to learn about this event the night before from a fellow neighbour.

It is great for the mosque to organize such an event and to extend invitation to residents of all races and religions to join in the festive occasion. My only wish is that the publicity could have been better so that more residents are aware of it and able to join in the celebration. It was a great time for us to meet up with our fellow neighbours and made friends with them through this event. We met some very warm people there. It made us felt so welcomed and I hope I would be able to join in more Hari Raya celebration organized by this mosque in the years to come.

This group of boys were seen enjoying some Hari Raya cookies.

Flying Kites

Flying kite is becoming more and more of a popular activity in Melaka as there is a plot of land beside the Straits of Melaka in Kota Laksamana where people go to fly kites in the evening. As we were spending a long weekend in Melaka, I brought a kite home. Taught my nieces and nephews how to fly kite. The children are quick-learner. They pick up the tips fast. See the two youngest children maneuvering their kite.

Boy & Iguana

This boy was so brave to allow the iguana to be placed on his shoulder for a photo shoot in Melaka's Dutch Square. I shuddered while looking on. I only allow the iguana to sit on my lap (I was wearing a long pants then) without me touching its skin.

Would you dare to put this iguana on your shoulder? Or have a snake placed like a scarf around your vulnerable neck?? Hee...hee...wanna share your thoughts on this?

At the Playground

I love this photo the moment I saw it. The vibrant colour, the bright sun and the surrounding trees make this photo nice to look at. No photo editing has been done on it, except for re-sizing & adding the watermark.

My nephews and nieces were seen here at the playground of Tun Fatimah Stadium in Melaka on a Sunday morning. How do you like to spend your Sunday morning?

A Stroll at Portuguese Square

Portuguese Square in Melaka is a great location for a nice stroll in the morning or evening. If you have not done it, do check it out! The sunset here is beautiful! You can see sunset view on 2 of my previous postings:
  1. Sunset at Portuguese Settlement's Jetty
  2. Portuguese Settlement (when the old broken jetty was still around)

"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
