Fried Nian Gao Stall

Do you enjoy afternoon tea? This is a stall near my house that sells Fried Nian Gao (a type of cake we have during Chinese New Year only), banana / yam / sweet potato fritters, fried spring rolls and even chempedak. I love the Nian Gao which is placed in between a slice of yam and sweet potatoes, then dip into flour batter and deep fried to golden colour. We can see the stall owner preparing the slices here. Mmm....these are delicious eaten hot with a cup of black coffee or tea!

What are you favourite afternoon tea food?

Hi Alice, Keropokman,

We are lucky to have this Uncle selling Fried Nian Gao throughout the year! So, we don't have to crave and wait till Chinese New Year to eat this! Yum, Yum.

It sounds devine, J.C.! I wish I had some now with a cup of hot tea. I enjoy any light sweet with tea. Sugar cookie or biscuit. Biscotti. Or just plain tea with a touch of honey.
