Mental Health Awareness Walk

As early as 6.15am, we were awake and looking forward to another charity walk. This time it is for the Malaysian Mental Health Association (MMHA) Big Walk 2008 that is held at PJ New Town. On the ride there, we were greeted by a beautiful flaming sun! For one who doesn't always wake up early, I really enjoy the sunrise! The ball of fire really cheered me up.

The walk was only 4.5km, starting from the field in front of AmCorp Mall and through PJ New Town and along Jalan Gasing. Amazingly, the walk attracted many young college students. I am glad to see these students supporting this event. Some of the students also put on sandwich board, with messages promoting mental health awareness/care.
Interestingly, after the walk, I saw the Eli Lilly's team, conducting a stress survey at one of the booths. For those of you who may not know, Eli Lilly is the pharmaceutical company that produces Prozac, an anti-depressant drug. See the survey form below and you can also do a test of your mental health:

Great way of exercising. The morning air is indeed very fresh.

"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
