ABC Wednesday - 'B' is for "Bodhi Wishing Tree"
This is a Bodhi tree made of papers and tree branches. It was set up at the entrance of the Shah Alam Buddhist Association. Wishes are written on the card made in the shape of a Bodhi leaf and tied up to branches. Many children from the Sunday School placed their wishes on the tree.

A Tribute to Yasmin Ahmad
Today I wanna pay tribute to the late Yasmin Ahmad, a highly acclaimed and award-winning film director who passed away last Saturday. Yasmin had directed many award-winning TV commercials for Petronas and that is why I have featured a black & white shot of Petronas Twin Towers for today's Monochrome Monday posting.
Here's a special poem dedicated to Yasmin, written by actress Azean Irdawati, that was published by The Sun paper in an article entitled: Farewell to Yasmin Ahmad by Bissme S.
She was an angel
God sent us
No, he lent us
To be a storyteller
Who spun stories of
Magic, joy and enchantment
Who we often lose sight of
Her fight was brief
Her leaving was a grief
Just like her movies
The end came too soon
But her wisdom remain
like words to a tune
That we will hold dear
Forever you will be near.
I love you Yasmin
I will miss you always.
Below is a beautiful TV commercial that the late Yasmin Ahmad directed, entitled 'Funeral', commissioned by Singapore's Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS). The story portrays a mother's love for her husband who passed away.
Lastly, I present you Yasmin Ahmad, behind the scene during the shooting of 'Funeral' TV ad.
Yasmin, may you have a good onward journey. Your absence will be missed by many fellow Malaysians, more so, during those key festive seasons when we don't get to see anymore of those brilliant tv commercials by you.

Clear Water of Bunaken Island
At the jetty of Bunaken Island, during low tide, one can see corals and sea creatures through the clear water. It was fun seeing this kid and his friends catching fishes and octopus.

This photo was taken during my birthday celebration with my family back home in Melaka.
To have a bunch of precious, good, old friends with me
sitting around a pot of hot steaming soup and cooking away our dinner!
What else can I ask for?
Catching the latest Harry Potter movie with my old buddies.
To have the teachings of the Buddha to guide me through my life.
I organized a lunch dana at Subang Jaya Buddhist Association yesterday and was glad to have some friends to join me in offering the dana to Sangha members.
The birthday greeting cards, flowers and gifts that I received.
The shower of blessings from above! The rain has finally arrived!
And this time it rained for over 4 hours! What a great blessing!
It washed away the haze and lowered the temperature!
To have so many yummy birthday cakes for my birthday!
Receiving countless of sms-es and calls from friends and family with warm birthday wishes!
Spending the evening learning the Dharma through hymns-singing with a group of undergraduates from my Alma Mater.
Ending the day with some delicious satay at Bandar Baru Bangi's Hj. Samuri Sate!

Beautiful Smile of A Golden Child
I just cannot resist taking photo of children. It is very easy to capture their mood on photos. There is no pretence. The emotions that they exude through their facial expressions are usually genuine.
Here's another child. This little girl of golden hair and a beautiful smile showered with the glow of the rising sun. I found her helping her parents to clear out fishes from a big pail.
Doesn't that warm smile fill with lotsa sunshine?
