Happiness Begins from the Famiily

Chinese New Year will be celebrated on this Sunday, 10th Feb, 2013.  I am posting today's photo that I took at Mid Valley Megamall today.  The word fu (福)as seen in the red decorative pieces means 'prosperity'.  However, I have added 家好人好百事好 to the photo.  These words carry the meaning that when all is fine in a family, one will be fine and so will all other matters in one's life.  In another word, happiness in life begins from the family. I think this is more important than any money and cents can bring us.

Wishing everyone a happy moment with your family. May you have a blessed Year of Snake!!
I am looking forward to going home to Melaka tomorrow night for the Chinese New Year celebration with my family. To all who celebrates Chinese New Year, Gong Xi Fa Cai & Xin Nian Kuai Le!

Bright Night

If you are ever in Klang Valley and want to find a place to hang out for food & drink, you can head over to The Curve.  This is the F&B street and it looks amazing in the evening when all the lights go up, the band started performing & you will also be entertained by a brass band that performed nightly at 8pm.

This is the Chinese New Year decoration for this F&B street.  Do you have similar place in your city where you like to go to hang out for food or drink with friends?

Chinese Zodiac Signs & Prediction

These are the scenes taken at the entrance of Pavillion Mall today.  The 12 animals in Chinese zodiac sign were featured for this year's decoration.  Chinese New Year is only 10 days away. The city traffic is very hectic and so was the mall.  Shoppers are expected to be doing their last minute shopping for the celebration.

With photos, you can only view.  But with video, you also get to listen to the surrounding sound.  I have enclosed a video taken at the scene where the above photos were captured. You will hear Chinese New Year song being played in the background and sounds of people around there.  A very festive mood. In addition, you get to read the prediction for the Year of Snake for each zodiac sign.

Beautiful Qi Pao

These 3 ladies performed a Chinese New Year song during the launch of Jonker Walk's Chinese New Year celebration. Love their qi pao (Chinese traditional costume).

We have a long weekend break, with Thursday being a public holiday for the celebration of Prophet Mohammad's Birthday and Monday for Thaipusam.  We took the opportunity to spend time in Melaka and enjoy the festive Chinese New Year decorations put up on the streets where my family lives.

There was even a launch for the lighting up of the Chinese New Year decorations on Jonker Walk.  This photo showed the crowd and also the lanterns hung up for this year's celebration.  It's really festive atmosphere to it. The organizer also held a street concert and we had a good time swaying to the music on the street.

Chinese New Year is about 2-week away. I will be posting more photos of preparation for Chinese New Year before the festival arrives. I am already in the festive mood.....Gong Xi...Gong Xi....Gong Xi Ni......
"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
