Lady in Saree

While taking photos of the ladies clad in saree doing the puja at the Sri Sakthi Easwari Temple in Sg. Way, this lady walked into my frame and I quickly clicked away. Love her beautiful vibrant-coloured saree.

Photography Outing - Bridal Shot

We were out on the 1st USJ.com photography outing at Putrajaya's Morrocan Pavillion when we saw a photography student and her model doing a photo shoot for assignment. We asked for their permission to shoot some photos of her model dressed in Malay bridal costume.

The Morrocan Pavillion that is located near to the Botanical Garden is very much deserted & neglected. For such a beautiful place, it's a waste that not much is done in publicizing and promoting the site. It would be a great site for tourists. We can see that cracks are appearing on its wall and fountains. I hope something would be done to it before the whole place run down.

If you are in Putrajaya, try to find your way to the Morrocan Pavillion. Trust me, you will have a tough time doing it!! You will not find any prominent signage leading to this place. It makes me wonder why.

Bollywood & Choli

I saw this tailor that specializes in Choli at Kuala Lumpur's Lebuh Ampang.

According to
Wikipedia, Choli is is a midriff-baring blouse worn in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and other countries where the sari is worn. The choli is cut to fit tightly to the body and has short sleeves with a low neck. The choli is usually cropped, allowing exposure of the navel; the cropped design is particularly well-suited for wear in the sultry South Asian summers. Cut-out backs and front-opening buttons are some of the features of contemporary designs.

In this photo, there are some backless Cholis, considered more contemporary design, which are inspired by Bollywood celebrities in Indian movies. According to Wikipedia, backless cholis have become a fashion in India after the movie Hum Aapke Hain Koun...!, in which the famous Hindi movie actress, Madhuri Dixit wears one.

A Scene at the Komuter Station's Platform

Captured this photo at Subang's Komuter Train's Platform while I was on a trip to Mid-Valley Mall. The beautiful sari of this lady captured my attention!
Our public transportation system requires lotsa improvement. It took me 1 hour by bus to reach the Komuter Train station from my home in USJ. Half an hour from Subang to reach KL Sentral (the main station). Another half hour (including waiting for the train) to reach Mid-Valley from KL Sentral. In total, it was a 2-hour journey by public transport. Under usual traffic condition, it would take about 45 mins for me to drive down there! I would certainly avoid any opportunity of taking the public transport in the future! Unless our public transportation system can be improved.
"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
