Kg. Morten

On Hari Raya Day we woke up early for our morning walk. That's what I always try to do when I am back in my hometown in Melaka. I will get my nephews and nieces outdoor to enjoy some fresh air and most importantly for some exercise. These days, parents are more concerned about their children's academic achievements. Less importance is placed on outdoor activities.

I decided that we should go to Kg. Morten and walk around the village and Melaka Riverside. I think I made a right choice as the weather was great and the scene that greeted us was simply gorgeous!

Here's a reflection of coconut trees in Kg. Morten on the Melaka River. Kg. Morten is a Malay village smacked in the middle of Melaka Town and it is located just by the Melaka River. Isn't this a beautiful sight?

Monochrome Monday - Reflection of A Bicycle

Have you ever felt that being caught in a rain is a blessing? I had.

It was yesterday noon when I was out to take photos when a sudden downpour took place, despite the sky was all sunny and bright! While taking shelter, waiting for the rain to stop, I noticed some photography opportunities, e.g. reflection on wet ground and how people dashed around to find shelter from the rain. Today's photo is a result of what I captured yesterday.

So, friends, never felt down when the rain comes while you are out for your photo shoot. There is always another door that opens up with other opportunities!

Today's posting is my participation for the Monochrome Monday's meme. Come visit the world of black and white at Monochrome Monday's portal!

Reflections of Lanterns

I saw this reflection in the drain as I was walking to Cheng Ho Teng Temple in Melaka. The red lanterns were hung as part of the decoration for Chinese New Year.

Sky Watch Friday - Dusk Hours at Sentul Park

A beautiful reflection of a Japanese restaurant at the lake in Sentul Park during dusk. Caught this photo when I was at KL Performing Art Centre (KLPAC) recently for a play called Gemuk Girls.

Reflection

I was amazed by the beautiful reflection of the apartments by the lake of Subang Ria Park.
It makes me wonder what kind of view the residents get from their units up in the sky.
Must be much greater than this!

Wish you a lovely and restful weekend!

Reflecting A Sharpened Sense

Ever since I joined City Daily Photo Blog (CDPB), I realized my attention for details has sharpened impressively. I became more visually sensitive of my surrounding. I am always looking at things from a different angle or perspective, with the hope to capture them with my lenses in an attractive way.

This photo is one of the subjects that I would easily missed in the past without a glance at all. This is a very common sight during Wesak. Devotees will go to temple and offer lights and perfumed incense to the Buddha. I would usually use the devotees for my photography subject. But who knows, this time I caught the devotees through another object, i.e. the shining urn! What a creative way of looking at my subjects!

I am glad by joining CDPB, subconsciously I am improving my photo composition! Hope it is the same for all of you too. :P
"Use your first smile, your first form of generosity, of love, of kindness—use it at home; start at home. And if there is something left over—if … your plate is just full of abundance of patience and goodness and smiles and joy, then by all means, you should go … and offer that to others. But we must begin at home." by Dr Robin Smith
