Wet Market in SS15

This is one of the vegetable stalls in our Subang Jaya SS15 wet market. This is the market that I frequent to buy my groceries or fresh ingredients for my cooking. This stall is one that I frequent regularly as the lady vendor with the pink hair scarf sells many fresh herbs such as basil, turmeric leaves, kaffir lime leaves, curry leaves, laksa leaf (daun kesum) and many others.

What are the herbs that you usually use in your cooking? Do you plant them? Or get them from the supermarket/wet market/farmer's market?

A stall that I love visiting in the SS2 morning market! This stall sells many beautiful plants. I love the pink and violet Gloxinia!

This flower stall at SS2 morning market carried so many varieties of fresh orchids!

Seeing these beautiful flowers put a smile on my face but check out the vendor. He didn't look happy at all. Mmmm...what do you think put the frown on his face?

Farmers Market in Shah Alam

What do you like to do on a Sunday?

As for me, it would be to visit the Shah Alam's Farmers Market (locally, we call it Pasar Tani) or the Amcorp Mall's Flea Market. At the Shah Alam's Farmers Market, the stalls are divided into the food, fresh market and retail sections. Thus one can go there for breakfast, follows by buying your fresh ingredients (meat, fish & vegies) for preparation of your Sunday lunch, then continue with shopping of handicrafts (as seen in this photo), books, clothes, plants and etc. This is a huge market and children usually love visiting it as there are balloons, ice cream and soft drinks seller at every corner of this market! I love to get plants for my garden here and also shop for old magazines or books at a very good bargain price.

If you have not been here, why not check it out tomorrow. Make sure you wake up early as this place tends to get heated up after 10am.

Century Eggs

Century eggs are those individually wrapped eggs in the big dragon urn. When I was a child, someone used to pull my legs by telling me that the eggs have been preserved for a century, thus the name. In fact, if you see the blackish & greyish egg after the shell is removed, you would be like me, trust this person!

This is a popular appetizer commonly served in restaurants in Shanghai. It's very delicious especially served chilled! I also love having century eggs with porridge. Mmmm.....what a heart-warming breakfast!!!

Jambu Air

Look at the vibrant red of the jambu air!! This is one of my favourite fruits! It's sweet and crunchy. Found them at the fruit stall in the market. Can't resist taking photos of them!

Sunday Flea Market

Come Sunday, many malls in Klang Valley will organize flea markets. One of my favourites is the fleamarket held in Amcorp Mall.

I like to dig around and usually would find gems such as interesting table lamps, old posters, books and old magazines. This is my favourite haunt on Sunday morning.
